More than one third of the gold produced in Alaska during the year 1925 came from the Alaska Juneau Gold Mine.
Juneau Lumber Mills added a box factory in the spring to its sawmill operations to provide salmon can shipping boxes for local and southeast Alaska canneries, producing the shooks (disassembled box parts) for 450,000 salmon boxes that season.
