Evelyn Ebner and Grover Winn, the first two high school graduates in Alaska, received their diplomas from Juneau High School June 1.

A new court house was completed to replace the one burned in 1898. The federal customs office and personnel moved to Juneau from Sitka as part of the transfer of the seat of government to Juneau. The governor and his staff remained in Sitka.

The Alaska Transcript began publication in Juneau October 17, later appearing as the Alaska Weekly Transcript in April 1908 and the Juneau Daily Transcript in May 1909 before ceasing publication September 9, 1909.

February 19 a fire at Treadwell burned down the YMCA building and two homes.
