1958 – Juneau High School students moved into the new $2 million high school building on Glacier Avenue today, although the building is not quite finished.  The new building has a capacity for 500 students, while present enrollment is 400. The old Fifth Street high school building will still be used for their gym activities. Following that move, junior high and elementary classes will switch around shortly to various buildings around town best suited for the capacities of each level. Daily Alaska Empire – 01/19/1958

1966 – Cordova Airlines announced today that it is introducing the pressurized Convair 240 planes for its Juneau-Anchorage service, replacing its non-pressurized C-46 aircraft.  The previous connecting stop at Cape Yakataga will now be routed out of Cordova which, with the increased speed of the Convair, will reduce the flight time by an hour. Additional flights will be added soon to give Juneau increased service to western Alaska. Juneau Alaska Empire  – 01/19/1966
